Oreo White Chocolate

Oreo White Chocolate

I remember when I was in elementary school, a rumor went around the lunch table that the “cream” in Oreos was actually “animal fat and fake sugar” (not my words). The cookies virtually disappeared from our communal tables and I wouldn’t be surprised if sales in the area dropped. The whole thing didn’t bother me that much though, because I didn’t love america’s favorite cookie for it’s cream, I loved it for its cookie. I know I’m in the minority and honestly I couldn’t explain why if I tried. However, my affection for the cookie half of the Oreo, might explain my complete infatuation with anything containing a similar cookie. I love Hershey’s Cookies and Cream bar, the Tirol Cookies and White, the Chocolate Crush Pocky, and now, I love the Oreo White Chocolate.

The white and blue plastic pouch has a surprisingly accurate picture of the Oreo White Chocolate and advertises Hokkaido milk. Each of the seven pieces is individually wrapped and the candy is about and inch long. It’s not the most attractive log of confection, mostly because cookie dust mixes with the white chocolate, turning it a bit gray. Each end is a crisp cross section that reveals large and small cookie pieces stuck together with white chocolate. The whole thing is crunchy and tastes like the cookie from Oreos and milky white chocolate. I really love the flavor and texture combination, but the chocolate’s after taste is a little too burning sweet. 4/5
